Monday - Oct - 28                    DEPART HOMETOWN

Depart your hometown and take an overnight flight. Enjoy in-flight entertainment and meal service as you travel to start you vacation.

 


Tuesday - Oct 29               DUBLIN ARRIVAL

After landing at Dublin Airport, complete customs and immigration formalities. Transfer to your hotel independently, check in and enjoy some free time to settle into your room. Later in the day, join your fellow travellers for a welcome drink at your hotel before heading to a local venue to enjoy an authentic Irish dinner included with the tour.

After dinner, The Druids will play a few songs informally to ease you into the tour. This will be an opportunity to relax to some of your favorite Irish Classic Ballads, Folk songs, and of course, dancing.

Wednesday – Oct 30                 DUBLIN SIGHTSEEING

This morning, set off with a local guide who will show you around Dublin. The city has been molded through the centuries by economic, political and artistic influences that has shaped its architecture. Stop to tour Guinness Storehouse to see exhibits on how this world-famous stout was first created and why it is so popular today. Finish your visit in the roof-top bar, where you can sample a draft of Guinness. Head back to your hotel and spend the balance of the day free to sightsee, shop and dine on your own.

After your day exploring Dublin's fair city, The Druids will play in the Historic Peader Kearneys Old Irish Traditional Dublin pub. Tonight, you will hear the Story and Song of Dublin.

Thursday – Oct 31               AVOCA HANDWEAVERS

Leaving Dublin, travel to visit Avoca Handweavers, to admire some of the beautifully handcrafted woollens and possibly grab a bite in their charming cafe offering the best in Irish cuisine. Then, continue on to visit Enniscorthy Castle, where unique displays are dedicated to the 1916 Rising in Enniscorthy. Continue your drive to Wexford, check into your hotel and settle into your room. Tonight meet your group for dinner in the hotel restaurant included with your tour.

After Dinner there will be a story of Irish Folklore and a chance to ask questions or join in with The Druids with some songs.

Friday – Nov 1                              JFK HOMESTEAD        

                                 After breakfast, journey into New Ross to visit the JFK Homestead, birthplace of President John F. Kennedy's great-grandfather. Today, it is still farmed by John's descendants and celebrates the story of the Kennedy dynasty. Continue to visit the nearby Dunbrody Emigrant Ship, a replica of a sailing vessel built in 1845 to transport emigrants from Ireland to North America.The visit will give you an insight as to what life on board the ship was like as well as filling you in on the history of the famine years. After, journey into Kilkenny to visit Kilkenny Castle, home of the Butlers, Earls, and Dukes of Ormonde. The Castle estate boasts both formal and informal gardens, which overlooks the Nore River. Motor a short distance to your hotel, check-in and enjoy the balance of the day at leisure. This evening, you might like to sample the local cuisine by dining at a nearby venue. 

The Druids will play an informal session in one of the local pubs, and will also invite some special guests to join in.

Saturday – Nov 2          IRISH NATIONAL STUD & GARDENS

Departing Kilkenny, travel into Kildare to visit the Irish National Stud, which will show you the history and current trends of horse-breeding in Ireland before viewing the magnificent horses. Also, take a walk around the truly spectacular Japanese Gardens, an artistic representation of the "Life of Man" from cradle to grave. Transfer to your hotel, check in and settle into your room. You might like to relax or freshen up before heading to a local venue to enjoy a traditional dinner with your group.

Tonight, you will get the ultimate and unique Irish Pub experience at The Druids local pub, Booleigh Bar. The lads have headlined The Booleigh Folk Festival for many years in this one-off, old authentic pub. The pub is on a crossroads in the middle of nowhere and it is famous for its food, beer and whiskey. It's owner, Murt, is a host that will make you feel like you're at home. Prepare to take a step back in time. The highlight of tonight will be when The Druids will be joined by local musicians.

 Sunday – Nov 3             NEWBRIDGE SILVERWARE & THE DRUIDS MOATE THEATRE SHOW

                                 Today, enjoy the morning at leisure to relax or sightsee around Kildare. In the afternoon, travel into Newbridge to visit Newbridge Silverware, which has been designing and producing quality jewelry, homeware, and giftware products for over 80 years.

The Druids will be performing a show at the Moate Theatre Naas County Kildare tonight. The lads have played this famous theatre for the past 10 years. It will be a surreal experience as you mix with the Druids' Irish fans and their families for what will be a mega night!

Monday – Nov 4            DUBLIN DEPARTURE

All too soon, your vacation has come to its final day. Transfer to Dublin Airport in good time to check in for your flight. You may do some last minute shopping at the duty free stores before boarding your aircraft and flying back to your hometown.
